Meg E.

Canoes at Montreat, oil on canvas, 4' x 5'

The Artist
Meg is from the deep south and enjoys the quiet moments of life that might otherwise go unnoticed.  She says, “Life can become so complicated and busy.  My art hopes to slow down that pace and to encourage a moment that is relational, quiet, simple, and good!”

On the act of creation, she sums it up simply saying, “I paint because God has given me a passion for the visual arts.  However, I think we are all innately creative beings and we express our humanity fully when we tap into that creativity.”

Meg paints everyday scenes in rich, warm harmonious colors and sometimes vibrant, bold colors.  It just depends on the subject matter.  She simplifies shapes without losing their essence.  Her main media is oil but she also enjoys watercolor, pastel, and pencil.
